Gourmet Haus Staudt is a German market located in downtown Redwood City. Unlike most markets in the Bay Area, this market has a bar in the back, which is almost always packed. The bar has its own restaurant, and includes indoor and outdoor seating.

If you can get there early enough, Gourmet Haus Staudt is a great place for happy hours and after work events. The long tables outside make for the perfect after work get together on a nice sunny day. The Beer Garden feel is reminiscent of the experience in Germany.

On top of the great atmosphere, the staff and drinks are fantastic. The bartenders are very approachable, and don't shy away from giving suggestions on drinks. Their dark beers and Hefenweisers are top notch. Combine that with being one of the few bars around that can serve beers in steins, and this is a must-visit bar.
